Limits of ICM
ICM disregards who will post the blinds in the next hand. If the blinds are very large compared to the chipstack of one individual player, that may significantly modify the players' expected value. The example below shows that despite of the fact that according to ICM player4 has the smallest expected value, player3 will must go all-in compulsory, and he is the one who most likely will be eliminated. The situation with extremely small chipstacks must be revised through this point of view.
| Players | Chipcount | Position | ICM EV | |
| Player 1 | 7000 | SB (500) | 383 | |
| Player 2 | 7000 | BB (1000) | 383 | |
| Player 3 | 600 | UTG | 140 | |
| Player 4 | 400 | Button | 94 |
